Apartment in Les Corts

50 m²4 months15 photos

A 50 m² apartment in the Les Corts neighbourhood, set in a 1936 modernist building — with a spatial logic rare for this footprint. The original layout already included three bedrooms and a common area with an open kitchen, and it was precisely this ergonomics that became the foundation of the project.

The interior was reimagined while preserving the balance between history and modernity. The open kitchen-living room forms a unified, airy space, while the integrated balcony enhances the sense of light and depth.

The key gesture was working with the building's authentic architectural fabric. Restored Catalan hydraulic tiles are paired with microcement, delicately filling in lost sections. Behind a dropped ceiling, original wooden beams and vaults were revealed — they were preserved, allowing the interior to gain an expressive texture. Parts of the walls were stripped to Catalan brick, which became a natural accent.
